WWE Money in the Bank: Superstars will compete at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for a chance to win a future title shot. Here's how to watch.
This July 4th weekend, there won't be any fireworks inside of the squared circle but WWE Money in the Bank is shaping up to be an explosive event filled with hard-hitting action. During the premium event, WWE Superstars will showcase their skills in front of a capacity crowd in Sin City.
Originally, Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, was announced to house the event, which would've made it the first MITB to be held in an NFL stadium. However, it was announced in late May that the event was moved to MGM Grand Garden Arena but there wasn't an official announcement explaining why. The demand of tickets and the size of the arena could've been a factor, as Allegiant Stadium can seat 65,000 people and the Grand Garden can house around 17,000.
Created in 2005, the Money in the Bank ladder match was originally contested annually at WrestleMania, the promotion's biggest show of the year; however, since 2010, the match has been showcased at its own self-titled pay-per-view event. The event has since joined the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series as one of WWE's "Big Five" annual events. In 2018, the promotion had its first women's MITB ladder match with Carmella winning in controversial fashion after James Elsworth secured the briefcase for her.
