Stream Online: Hulu with Live TV or fuboTV (Try for free)

With a series win in game 7 against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final on May 23, the Washington Capitals are heading to the Stanley Cup finals for just the second time since joining the NHL in 1974-75. Their last appearance in the finals saw them swept 4-0 by the Detroit Red Wings in 1997-98, so the Caps are looking for a better performance this series. Their opponents are the Vegas Golden Knights, a team that has defied all expectations in its inaugural trip on the NHL to post a record of 51-24-7 during the regular season, capturing the Pacific Division title. Alexander Ovechkin, captain of the Capitals, will try to play spoiler to the Golden Knights' amazing playoff run as he heads into his first Stanley Cup final since joining the league in 2005-06.

Puck drop at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas will be 5 p.m. Pacific (8 p.m ET). Pre-game coverage begins on NBCSN at 3 p.m. Pacific, with NBC broadcasting the game starting at 5 p.m. You can stream on mobile via the NBC Sports App with your cable login, or if you don't have cable, you can stream the game via Hulu with Live TV or fuboTV.

The quest for the Stanley Cup is comprised of an 82 game regular season, and 4 "best of 7" rounds. Vegas has the better record in the 2017-18 playoffs winning 4-0 (Los Angeles Kings), 4-2 (San Jose Sharks) and 4-1 (Winnipeg Jets), while the Capitals won 4-2 (Columbus Blue Jackets), 4-2 (Pittsburg Penguins), and 4-3 (Tampa Bay Lightning). The Vegas Golden Knights won both regular season matchups between the two teams.
