Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) has a hot date in Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy, and he's going to look very familiar to a lot of TV fans. How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor is guest-starring for at least one episode as a new potential love interest for Meredith, according to People.

Details about Radnor's character are being kept under wraps, but it seems Meredith finally agrees to let her matchmaker patient awaiting a kidney transplant help restore her romantic mojo, so the two will go on a blind date in Thursday's episode. It remains to be seen if sparks will fly or if this will be the first of many terrible dates Meredith has to go on to find her next suitable relationship partner, but showrunner Krista Vernoff did tell TV Guide we would be seeing Meredith going on multiple dates this season.

"What we're doing that's different than what we've seen is, she's gotta go on dates. Like in real life, love doesn't always land in your lap with the first date. And so, we're leaning into that a little bit," Vernoff said.

So yeah, it's probably safe to say Meredith isn't going to get it right on the first try. However, maybe you're thinking that Ted Mosby should at least be given a chance, but ... does he need one? If we're being honest, we have to say we're still hung up on Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman), the charming transplant surgeon who swept us (and Meredith) off our feet last season.

Speedman has already said that he probably won't return to the hospital drama, but Meredith's matchmaker needs a transplant. Nick is a transplant surgeon! It's too easy to bring him back and give us the romance we've wanted for Meredith since Derek (Patrick Dempsey) died three seasons ago! Plus, can you imagine going from flirting with Ben Covington to dating Ted Mosby?

Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC.
