GOING AWOL

JAG star David James Elliott is crossing enemy lines. After a 10-year tour of duty at CBS, the actor is leaving the military drama at the end of the season to go to work for rival network ABC. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Elliott has inked a development deal with ABC to star in a new project or join an existing series. His exit doesn't necessarily mean the end of JAG, however: CBS may opt to carry on with As the World Turns' star Chris Beetem, who joins the cast Feb. 18 as Navy Lieutenant Vukovic.
