Pedro Pascal is headed to a galaxy far far away. The Game of Thrones actor will bring his unique talents to the upcoming live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian, Variety reports.

Taking place after the fall of the Empire and just before the rise of the First Order, the new series follows a lone gunfighter who's managed to escape the authority of the New Republic on the outer reaches of the galaxy. Following in the footsteps of famed bounty hunters Jango and Boba Fett, who bore the Mandalorian armor in the Star Wars films, the series will finally delve into the lore of the mysterious warrior tribe we've only gotten glimpses of so far on screen.

As things come together in front of the camera, The Mandalorian has also assembled an impressive team behind the scenes. Jon Favreau will pen the script and Dave Filoni, who worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, has signed on to direct the first episode. Plus, the series is bringing in heavyweights like Thor: Ragnarok's Taika Waititi, actress and director Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope's Rick Famuyiwa, and Marvel's Jessica Jones' Deborah Chow to helm additional episodes.
