Martin Scorsese's reign as the Susan Lucci of the movie world may finally be coming to an end. The Oscar-challenged director's Howard Hughes epic, The Aviator, scored a leading 11 Academy Award nominations, including best picture, best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio, best supporting actress for Cate Blanchett, best supporting actor for Alan Alda and best director for Scorsese. Finding Neverland and Million Dollar Baby followed with seven nods apiece, including best film. Ray and Sideways rounded out the best picture slot. In the acting races, Jamie Foxx scored two nods, for best actor in Ray and best supporting actor in Collateral, while the best actress category featured a rematch between 1999 rivals Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) and Annette Bening (Being Julia). Oscar's biggest surprise? Million Dollar Baby producer/director Clint Eastwood's nomination for best actor over Sideways thesp Paul Giamatti. Poor guy can't catch a break.
