Couple Files Summons Against Comcast, Joel McHale and E!
Comcast, E! Entertainment, The Soup host Joel McHale and the Associated Press may be hit with a defamation lawsuit from a dwarf couple who are objecting to the way they have been presented. A praecipe for writ of summons, a precursor to a suit, was filed by Cara and Gibson Reynolds, a couple featured in an Associated Press article about the ethical boundaries involved in allowing parents to create "designer babies." They were quoted as saying, "You cannot tell me that I cannot have a child who's going to look like me... It's just unbelievably presumptuous and they're playing God."

The couple's attorney, Herman Weinrich, told Courthouse News that he's in the process of determining whether the network took the photo from the AP without permission. If the photo was downloaded unlawfully, he may drop the wire service as a defendant.
A spokeswoman for E! Entertainment Television said the company does not comment on ongoing legal actions. E-mails to Comcast and a representative for Joel McHale were not immediately returned.
