Froome, 28, had a winning margin of more than five minutes, which is the largest since 1997, ESPN reports. Colombian Nairo Quintana finished second, and Joaquim Rodriguez of Spain came in third.

He rode more than 2,100 miles in 83 hours and 56 minutes before cruising onto the Champs-Elysees for the final leg, sipping a flute of champagne.
