One of TV's most recognizable voices is calling it a day. Howard Reig, the longtime announcer of NBC Nightly News, is retiring today after more than a half century on the job. The 84-year-old baritone plans to relocate to Florida to be near his five grandchildren. Reig's successor has not been named, but several highly questionable sources say Dan Rather has applied for the job.
