Michaels' father, Wally Sychak, told Extra on Tuesday that his son is now talking and moving his arms and legs.
Trump: Bret Michaels' "prognosis is not great"
"He sounded a little slow, but fine. He was talking, not as cheerful as he usually is," Sychak, told Extra. "But he understood what he was saying and knew me. Everything seemed good that way."
Although Michaels' hospital has not been disclosed, Sychak said his son is being treated in Arizona and sounded confident about Michaels' road to recovery. "Well, the fact that he was talking to me, and giving me information, I thought that was great," he said. "I understood that this was a terrible ordeal that he was going through. We're not getting information right now. I guess no news is good news."
As of Monday morning, Michaels remained in the ICU under 24-hour care while doctors continued testing to locate the source of his bleeding, according to an update on his Facebook page.
