Gone Girl was no match for Brad Pitt's Fury at the box office.

Taking in $23.5 million in its debut, the World War II drama unseated Gone Girl from the top spot this weekend, Box Office Mojo reports. After two weeks at No. 1, Gone Girl dropped to second place with $17.8 million.

Animated fantasy The Book of Life had a decent opening, landing in third place with $17 million, while Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day dropped one spot to No. 4 with $12 million.

The Best of Me had the worst debut ever for a Nicholas Sparks movie, opening in fifth place with $10.2 million.

At No. 6 was Dracula Untold with $9.9 million. It was followed by The Judge, whose $7.94 million just edged out Annabelle's $7.92 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were The Equalizer (No. 9, $5.4 million) and The Maze Runner (No. 10, $4.5 million).
