Arrowverse Crossover: At Least One Person Will See Through Barry and Oliver's Freaky Friday Situation

This could be their only hope of switching back!

This year's Arrowverse crossover, which kicks off Sunday, Dec. 9 on The CW, promises to be a pretty hilarious one since a twist in reality will force Barry (Grant Gustin) and Oliver (Stephen Amell) to swap lives and their respective teams will have no idea they've pulled a Freaky Friday. But while Iris (Candice Patton) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) are busy accidentally smooching each others' husbands, there is at least one woman in their lives who will be able to see through the hoax: Supergirl (Melissa Benoist).

"This [crossover] was so fun in particular because it really was the triad, so to speak, the three of us," Benoist told reporters of filming the crossover. "And Kara plays a really fun role in this dilemma that Barry and Oliver find themselves in. She's the only one that really recognizes them for who they are in this Freaky Friday situation, and it's really comedic. The whole thing. I think people will really get a kick out of it."

Well, if there's anyone you want on your team when reality has been warped beyond recognition, it's probably the girl who can shoot lasers out of her eyes, right? Though something tells us getting Barry and Oliver out of each others shoes is going to be a little trickier than that.

The "Elseworlds" crossover will begin Sunday, Dec. 9 with The Flash at 8/7c, followed by Arrow on Monday, Dec. 10 at 8/7c, and Supergirl on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 8/7c.

(Full Disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS, one of The CW's parent companies.)
