It was the green screen heard 'round the world: actress Archie Panjabi wrapped up her time on The Good Wife in the spring of 2015, but — reportedly — only on a green screen, due to a possible feud with lead actress Julianna Margulies. Though none of the murky details have since been confirmed, that hasn't stopped journalists from trying to suss out the modern, TV equivalent of the Zapruder film.

On a Television Critics Association fall previews panel for Blindspot, which Panjabi is joining in Season 2 in a mysterious role, Panjabi was asked point blank if she could, once and for all, settle exactly what happened behind the (green) scenes.

"I loved playing the role of Kalinda," Panjabi replied. "I had such a great time on it. I'm so thrilled to be on another show. In terms of anything that happened on The Good Wife, I think it's only respectful to let it stay on The Good Wife. It was time for me for many reasons to unzip the boots. For those who miss the boots, I do wear a pair of knee-high boots on Blindspot."

Panjabi's high-road answer comes a year after former CBS Entertainment Chairwoman Nina Tassler dodged the same question at last summer's TCAs. She refused to "reveal any movie magic" that went into the scene, which was the first time Kalinda and Alicia (Margulies) shared screen time in more than two years. "The bottom line is the ending of the show was a very satisfying ending for the relationship between those two characters," Tassler said at the time. "I stand behind ... how [creators] Robert and Michelle King produced their show."

And now after that masterful non-response by Panjabi, it it seems that fans will have to wait even longer to truly find out what really happened — if we ever find out at all.
