Demongeot is an 11-year-old nuisance who must spend a few days with her uncle, Noiret, in Paris when her mother goes off with a new lover. She wants nothing more than to ride the subway, but a strike by the Paris Metro workers prevents this. The foul-mouthed girl blames it on grownups

but decides to have fun in spite of this setback. She takes Noiret on a mad chase through the town, and at one point he's forced to leap from the Eiffel Tower using a balloon as a parachute. Finally she is granted her wish when the strike ends, but Demongeot is tuckered out from all the loony

goings on and ends up falling asleep on the way home. This is a great romp with some wonderfully wild moments. A fine early effort from the director of ATLANTIC CITY and MURMUR OF THE HEART.
