A minor and forgettable western, this might be worth a look simply for its filial cast. When Conway is expelled from West Point he goes looking for a brother accused of stealing some money from the Union Army. He becomes friends with McCrea (real-life son of Joel). At a church dance he

meets Ladd (Alan's real-life daughter). A fight breaks out, some bullets fly, and the trio flees. Mitchum, the third actor-scion (the son of Robert), a young man brought up by Comanches, joins them outside town and marries Ladd. The search continues for Conway's brother, and the group is joined by

Mansell, a cattle rustler. Ladd's father is pursuing the group, and Conway's brother is finally found murdered, killed by soldiers in a fight over the stolen money. The story comes to a bloody climax as greed, Indians, and the trailing band of ranchers catch up with the group in a melee. Mitchum

is killed, and Conway recovers the money. He is ready to clear his name and settle down with Ladd. The trio of second-generation actors shows that talent isn't necessarily transmitted through one's genes.
