YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE is a pretty awful comedy about dating in the 1980s that underneath its trendy facade tries to say something positive about romance. David Packer stars as Eddie Hayes, a 23-year-old kid from Akron who arrives in LA without a girl, a car, a job, or a pick-up line. He

goes to work handing out fliers on the beach where he meets Peggy Kellogg (Bridget Fonda), an employee of Video Valentine, a video dating service. After he has made a dating video and undergone a series of sexual misadventures, he meets the high-powered head of Vidiocity ad agency's New York

branch and is offered a job with the company. In the meantime, he finds himself falling for Peggy. There's not much to say about YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE that hasn't already been said about countless other "life in LA" films. Fast cars and fast women are abundant, sleazy businesspeople run the place,

kooks are everywhere, and penis jokes get a lot of laughs. The big question viewers will find themselves asking is, "How does something like this get made?"
