Lifeless courtroom drama set in Hungary during 1882, centering on the trail of five Jews accused of murdering a man who, in actuality, committed suicide. In a stilted performance, Nagel plays the attorney who believes in the Jews' innocence despite the rampant prejudice being shown against the defendants. Prime among the bigots is the greedy landowner who accuses the men of the murder out of pure hatred and the desire to get them out of the way.
