In the late 1930s the major studios turned out a succession of pictures--many of them light comedies--dedicated to the premise that a woman's place is in the home, rather than in the business world in competition with men. Republic, ever eager to grow to the stature of its larger

competitors, was quick to imitate, and this heavy-handed effort is one such emulation. Summoned to a hospital on her wedding anniversary, physician Inescort deserts husband Wilcoxon and daughter Jason to practice her considerable surgical skills. The disgruntled Wilcoxon attends a party given by

the delectable Dodd, and finds himself greatly drawn to his attentive hostess. As demands on Inescort's professional services increase, her alienated husband turns more and more to the company of Dodd until, finally, he decides on divorce. Pushed into action by her family's absence, Inescort

eschews her life-saving skills and devotes herself to winning Wilcoxon back. When daughter Jason is injured in a fall from a horse while riding with Dodd, Wilcoxon pilots a plane to get her to a medical facility. Inescort does ambulatory surgery on her daughter up in the air, and the near-tragedy

reunites the family.
