Flashy playboy pilot Haworth vies with nice-but-dull pilot Armstrong for the affections of saucy stewardess Eilers in this airline drama. The rotter wins the girl over the objections of her sister, Sage, whose skull he fractures because of her interference. During some bad weather, Haworth bails out of an erratically moving aircraft, leaving a planeload of passengers and sweetheart Eilers abandoned to the air. Eilers takes the controls and--guided by radio by her true love, the stable, sturdy Armstrong--brings the craft safely to the ground. The villain's parachute, fortuitously, fails to open. One of the worst of the spate of aerial melodramas of the mid-1930s, borrowing heavily from Howard Hawks's CEILING ZERO of the previous year.
