Wings and the Woman Reviews

The biography of ill-starred husband-and-wife fliers Jim Mollison and Amy Johnson, both renowned pilots before and during WW II. The film concentrates both on their aerial feats and their domestic problems--a marriage that despite its celebrity status failed to provide happiness and ended in divorce. The finale has Neagle going down in the English Channel in 1941 while ferrying a fighter plane from the factory to an airfield for the RAF. Her former husband drowned similarly because of a crippled airplane when he bailed out over the Thames estuary in 1959.
