Pregnant Landi is sent to prison after accidentally killing a policeman (this just after her husband was killed in a bank robbery). There she gives birth and unwittingly signs away the child. Two-and-a-half years later, Landi attempts to escape to be with her child and does succeed at a reunion in the end. A surprisingly good cast succeeds in keeping our attention on all this hokum, but nevertheless, the story is too depressing for its own good.
