Lindsey (Courtney Thorne-Smith), Robin (Jo Ann Willette), and Joey (Mariska Hargitay) all hop in a convertible and head off to work at a Nevada dude ranch immediately after graduation from high school. During their first week of work the girls meet Talia (Cristen Kauffman), a rich Lake

Tahoe gal. When our heroines are shortchanged on their first paycheck, they quit and go off to Talia's mansion. There they meet her seedy mobster boy friend Roscoe (E. Erich Anderson), and he agrees to get the girls phony I.D.'s so that they can work in the casinos. But the girls soon realize that

they must get their new friend Talia away from Roscoe. Once again the teen exploitation genre seems to be turning toward a trend where girls prove to be as gross, stupid, and uncontrollably lustful as boys. Save for the likable young actresses in the cast, there is not an inkling of intelligence

in WELCOME TO 18. Using the time-honored exploitation device of seeming to preach against such abuses as teen sex, drug use, and gambling--while exploiting the hell out of such vices for the titillation of the audience--WELCOME TO 18 pretends to be a socially redeeming teen comedy.
