This goofy black comedy stars Belmondo as a depressed young heir who is so bored that death seems an exciting alternative to his current life style. After trying and failing nine times to kill himself, Belmondo learns that his fortune has been lost in a stock market crash. This greatly

upsets his fiancee, Lagrange, and her mother, Pacome, but he sees it as another good excuse to kill himself. His business manager, Inkijinoff, has a better idea. Instead of killing himself and leaving his loved ones nothing, Inkijinoff suggests that Belmondo take out a life insurance policy for $2

million and then hire someone to assassinate him. Belmondo agrees, and the plan is set in motion. Unfortunately, he meets an attractive stripper, Andress (who studies archaeology on her days off), and falls in love. Having changed his mind about dying, he is soon running all over the Far East,

trying to avoid the killers. Eventually, he makes his way to safety and learns that the "killers" were actually insurance agents. He also discovers that his fortune has doubled on the stock market. The contrived ending weakens this otherwise funny film.
