Argentine filmmaker Hector Olivera directs this English-language remake of LOS ULTIMOS DIAS DE LA VICTIMA, which he produced in 1982. Veteran professional assassin James Conrad (Don Stroud) arrives in Buenos Aires for his next assignment, but after working for 15 years for a faceless

organization known only as "The Company," he's ready to follow a more righteous line of employment. Since two weeks' notice is hardly enough for the likes of The Company, Conrad elects to make his South American hit before retiring in Nepal, and waits for The Company's notice that it's time to do

this last job. While waiting, he becomes tragically involved with his target's mistress (Adrienne Sachs), a tango dancer. TWO TO TANGO fails to intrigue, primarily because it fails to make its hitman protagonist likable, admirable, or interesting; his belated attempt at a moral transformation

comes off as wholly contrived. Making matters worse is the murky exposition, so-so tango dancing, and trite dialog.
