When the orphaned Cooper inherits some oil-rich property in Texas, the unscrupulous Dinehart is more than helpful to the lad. It seems he wants the property for his own, but thanks to the ever-pure Bartholomew and his pa Melville Cooper, all is saved. Despite the routine plotting this is

a fairly entertaining piece. The old western style was brought up to date, directed in a fast pace and with just enough comic moments from Cooper to keep it from becoming heavyhanded. This was the second film that year for the Cooper-Bartholomew team, following SPIRIT OF CULVER. The studio heads

knew a good thing when they saw it, for the two boy stars worked well together.
