Not every star can bow out of the movies with a resoundingly successful film and such was to be the case with Crawford. Sadly, she didn't just leave films on a bad note, but with a bomb. When some students are killed by a cave creature, Crawford, an anthropologist, has the beast captured

and taken to her laboratory. The troglodyte (nicknamed "Trog") is supposedly the missing link, though it looks more like an actor with too much body hair and a bad monkey mask. The creatures loves classical music, hates rock 'n' roll, and eventually has its mind tapped to learn its history. Trog's

"memory" is actually just some old footage of THE ANIMAL WORLD, a 1955 Irwin Allen picture. There's some jealousy among Crawford's colleagues and the inevitable "search and destroy" mission when the misunderstood creature escapes and takes a little girl with him. This film could have been great

camp fun, but its presentation is absolutely wretched.
