A hard-to-believe story about an unfaithful wife and a forgiving husband doesn't make the grade called entertainment. Francis is a bored wife who takes off with Spanish lover Cortez to find excitement. She writes a letter to her husband explaining why she did it and, while mailing the

letter, learns that Cortez is involved with a peasant girl. That girl's father shoots Cortez and Francis realizes that she has no yen for this kind of life. She hurries back to intercept the letter, but a blackmail plot is dragged in suddenly and the story sags to an embarrassing, confessional

ending when Francis tells all to her husband and is taken back by him. A 1924 version of the story, filmed by Paramount and called THE NEXT CORNER, also had Cortez in the same role he plays in this version.
