A very poor adaptation of a play that hit the New York stage in 1913, this film presents Nagel as a man who goes broke playing the stock market--an experience that was not unfamiliar to Americans at the time when this picture was released. Owen, Nagel's wife, doesn't adapt easily to the changes in their financial situation, and, after initially trying to soldier through, gives up and falls in with bad company. All of which leads to her being shot by her husband; however, she awakens to discover it was all just a bad dream. By taking the easy way out, this picture disappoints in a big way.
