This is the original pilot for TV's "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.," with a few extra feet of footage tacked on to allow for commercial release. The added footage does absolutely nothing to develop the plot. It just gives Vaughn a chance to indulge in some of his super-spy antics. An

organization called WASP attempts to take control of an African republic by assassinating the president and his top aides. Vaughn, assisted by simple housewife Crowley, puts an end to the scheme. The pilot was shot in color but was seen on TV in black and white. This was one of several theatrical

releases culled from the television series. Another, THE SPY WITH MY FACE, was also released in 1966.
