Thunder (Mark Gregory) is a Navajo Indian who returns to his ancestral home to discover that his tribal burial ground is being violated by construction workers building an observatory. Outraged that the treaty his grandfather had signed with the white man more than 100 years before has

been broken, Thunder tries to stop the construction by himself and ends up in a brawl with one of the workers, Thomas (Antonio Sabato). Thunder takes his case to the local sheriff (Bo Svenson) and the local bank that is financing the construction, but his pleas are ignored. Thunder finally snaps

and decides to wage a one-man war against his enemies. THUNDER WARRIOR has the benefit of John Ford's favorite location--the beautiful Monument Valley and the surrounding area. The muscle-bound Gregory does a competent job as the exasperated Navajo who finally decides to force the white man to

honor his grandfather's treaty, and Svenson lends his usual dependable support. Director Fabrizio De Angelis (who in the inexplicable tradition of the Italian cinema went under the name Larry Ludman for US release) handles the action scenes with some flair, although someone should notify him that

extended use of slow motion is by now only favored by the likes of Brian De Palma.
