The Strange Case of Clara Deane Reviews

A thoughtless programmer which insults its audience by assuming that they are as dumb as the characters in the film. Gibson is a hardworking dress designer who gets mixed up with O'Brien, a no-good scoundrel who acquires his cash by questionable means. They decide to marry, but during the ceremony--one they obviously cannot afford--detective Digges puts two and two together. The husband and wife are eyed with criminal suspicion until Gibson is arrested and sent to prison for 30 years. She is innocent, however, and it is O'Brien who is the guilty one. Before she is put away, Gibson gives birth to a daughter who is put up for adoption, thanks to O'Brien's callousness. When Gibson is finally released after serving half her term, she tracks down her daughter and the two are reunited.
