A quartet of young ghost hunters agree to document their overnight stay in one of New Orleans' most notorious haunted houses. Along with Paul (Paul Palmer III), their team leader, these ectoplasym enthusiasts include Ryan (Ryan Larson), a history student; Tim (Tim Thompson), a filmmaker; and Madison (Madison Charap), a psychic. Armed with high tech gadgetry, this intrepid band uses motion detectors and thermal sensors to delve into the mystery of the abandoned mansion. Is it still haunted by the spirits of tortured slaves and the ghost of their sadistic mistress? No sooner is Tim nearly get crushed beneath a falling chandelier, than skeletal remains begin popping up in every nook and cranny of the hellish house. Can these amateurs exorcise the evil or will history repeat itself with a new set of victims? A blatant rip-off of the unaccountably popular BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, this fright-fest is equally parsimonious with its chills. As psychic Madison babbles on about the how-tos of ghost-busting, the viewer will be less terrified than stupefied. Despite the production's feeble efforts to pass itself off as a real documentary, the result is a celluloid case of the Emperor's New Clothes. Instead of being impressed that you're privy to actual footage of supernatural exploration, you'll be annoyed by the inept spectacle of a cast trying to work itself up into a lather over nothing.
