When a brawl breaks out at the local gym, Dick (Richard Arlen), the trainer of wrestler Andy Grogan (Andy Devine), demonstrates some real punching power, and Slick (Douglas Fowley), a boxing promoter, persuades him to give prizefighting a try, paving his way to success with a series of fixed fights. Pat (Astrid Allwyn), a female sportswriter whose readers think she's a man, knows something is fishy, and Slick decides to sock it to her by sticking her with Dick's contract, which she wins in a raffle. She and Dick have the last laugh, though, when he starts landing punches for real.
