The Last Valley Reviews

Sharif, a former teacher seeking refuge from the ravages of the Thirty Years War, settles down in a peaceful village in a lush Alpine valley. Caine, an army captain, and his men are urged by Sharif to set up camp when the village is threatened by a band of murderous mercenaries. Written, produced, directed, and heavily financed by James Clavell, this extravagant costume drama ended up with a reported $7 million loss. Clavell went on to write the blockbuster novels Shogun and Noble House.
