Hyams is a stenographer from a middle-class background who weds her rich boss, Nagel. When he visits the girl's parents he finds that they feel the need to prove class equality. After being subjected to a long-winded speech on the class system from Hyams' cousin, Nagel decides to move in with the folks, at Hyams' urging. He puts up with endless inconveniences and discomforts in order to prove that love is not a slave to class distinctions. Based on a stage play, this picture contains plenty of laughs. Remade in 1938 as RICH MAN, POOR GIRL.
