Rory Calhoun and his agent, Vic Orsatti, produced this offbeat western. The story features Calhoun as a professional gunman hired by a wealthy Texan, Litel, to bring back his dead son's wife, Francis, who is supposed to hang for the murder of her husband. A few hours before the hanging, Francis breaks out of jail and escapes to New Mexico, where her father has a ranch. Litel tries to extradite her, but because New Mexico is not yet a state, he is unable to get to her, hence the hiring of Calhoun. Calhoun finds Francis, but while riding back to Texas, she is able to convince him of her innocence. Francis claims her husband's brother, Edwards, is the one responsible for the death. Calhoun proves that Edwards committed the crime and Francis is set free.
