The Gambler and the Lady Reviews

An unimaginative gangster yarn in which Clark plays a hotshot gambler whose winnings and ownership of several casinos are not enough to keep him content. His yen to become part of the upper crust of society leads him into an affair with Chance, a member of England's aristocracy, something that doesn't sit too well with the nightclub singer he has left behind. She takes a stab at doing him in after the efforts of greedy gangsters prove unsuccessful. Though an intriguing crime drama exists somewhere beneath this depiction, the way it is brought to the screen does little to take advantage of its possibilities.
