The Delicate Delinquent Reviews

Lewis' first feature without Martin is a less-than-successful spoof on the then-current popularity of juvenile delinquent films. Lewis plays a shy and cowardly janitor who lives in terror of the street gangs that infest his neighborhood. One day he accidentally gets stuck in the middle of a gang rumble that is broken up by the police. Lewis is hauled in as one of the young hoodlums. At the station, kindly police captain McMahon turns Lewis over to patrolman McGavin (filling in for Martin, for whom the role was written) to be reformed. Eventually, Lewis summons up enough bravery to face the gang. In the end, he rescues McGavin and his girl Hyer from the clutches of a tough street gang.
