The Dark Horse Reviews

The title refers to Guy Kibbee, a dumb gubernatorial candidate who is bullied by his political party. With the benefit of demon promoter and publicist William, the party is trying to put over "Hicks from the Sticks" on the voters. William, while manipulating Kibbee, is in turn manipulated by the two female interests in the film: Davis, his hard-working girl friend, who helps him pay off his alimony-grabbing wife; and Osborne, who holds an arrest order over William's head throughout the film. The climax of the film comes when Kibbee is set up. He is invited up to a mountain retreat by Osborne, and during a game of strip poker he is forced to escape in his long underwear. Breezy but threadbare.
