When an actor (Hamilton) slugs it out with a prince (also Hamilton, in a dual role), he is summoned by the Queen mother who wants to get a gander at the person who gave her boy such a bad beating. As luck would have it, he's a dead ringer for the prince and mom dispatches him to another

little Balkan country where he is instructed to woo and win the little spitfire enthroned there, Merkel. Good subject that he is, he does the queen's bidding, falls in love with the girl, and brings her home, only to have the prince stamp his feet and toss his pretty curls and even go so far as to

denounce the throne rather than marry the hoydenish princess. This is just fine for the actor, who is then accepted by the Queen mother as her son and is cast in his finest role as prince of the kingdom, leaving the real prince to go off pouting, presumably in search of his own Wally Simpson.

Adapted from a stage play, this little fairy tale does not make it on the screen.
