The Black Whip Reviews

Average oater following four women, Dickinson, Gray, Schuyler, and Mara, who are kicked out of town for helping a hated outlaw escape capture. The ladies are put on the next stagecoach, but the coach breaks down, and the passengers must hole up in an out-of-the-way inn run by meek Marlowe. Soon after, an outlaw gang arrives, led by whip-wielding crook Richards. The gang is awaiting the arrival of the next stage, which bears the governor of Kentucky, whom the crooks plan to kidnap for a large ransom. Then they will run to Mexico. After taking much grief from the gang, Marlowe eventually outsmarts the hoods and helps the sheriff's posse dispose of the menace. (Loose remake of SHOW THEM NO MERCY, 1935, and RAWHIDE, 1951.)
