(can you imagine those two jamming together?), Robbe-Grillet takes us into Walter's (Daniel Mesguich) mind for a roller-coaster ride. He and wife Sara (Cyrielle) move into a new abode, and he promptly falls in love with a mysterious young woman who vanishes, then reappears. He subsequently learns

that she died seven years ago. This is told to him by her father, a physician who is not satisfied with making sick people well; he wants to make dead people communicate. It's a little of this and a little of that. No doubt the intellectuals will go for our throats and say, "You didn't understand

the underlying truth, the images, the ultimate and deep meaning of the movie." They're right--we didn't. And you may not either.
