Sam Waterston is a wild Scotsman who has continued to philander through his two bigamous marriages without the slightest twinge of guilt. Deep down he's really a romantic, as discovered by Jenny Agutter, the lady he takes up with when her regular beau goes on a trip to the US. Waterston's depiction of the character is honest and completely believable.
