Svenson stars as the leader of a group of unemployed Vietnam vets who execute a daring bank robbery due to financial desperation. The robbery is a success, but the getaway is loused up, and Svenson is the only one who escapes. Desperate to get rid of the evidence, Svenson dumps the loot in a mailbox. Unfortunately for Svenson, artist Shepherd and crooked barkeep Gwynne see the robber's deposit. Gwynne tries to get the dough for himself to pay off mafia drug dealers Ito and Tayback. Shepherd, however, is drawn to Svenson and helps him get the money back. They succeed and run off together on an ocean cruise, but are shocked to discover the president of the bank on the same ship. An entertaining, if unspectacular, romantic comedy.
