This Canadian feature, shot in cooperation with the Federal Department of National Health and Welfare in just 11 days, is a documentary-style feature about the horror of veneral diseases. Willis is a health officer who is trying to clear a town of both crooked politicians and the dread

disease. LaFleur is a councilman's daughter who picks up VD, a fact that eventually causes her father to switch his crooked style to a more reformed position. Cromlen handles the cast well, getting them to deliver their performances with a brisk, realistic flavor. Though dated by today's

standards, SINS OF THE FATHERS was commendable for its time by never playing to the more sensationalistic aspects of the subject. Rather, the message was nicely contained in a well-told story.
