While working their way into a bank vault, a gang of robbers, led by Pendleton, hear singing. It turns out to be Pitts, rehearsing a sentimental song about mothers for the Union Bank Little Theater group. Pendleton, a hardened gangster, is reduced to tears by the tune and sets up a show

for Pitts to sing the song in. Of course it's the worst show imaginable, but he forces critics to like it unless they want to contend with him and the boys. Though clever in parts, this is a one-joke film that continually repeats itself. Pitts is fairly good in the lead, a role she was getting

with increasing frequency at this stage of her career. Production values are typical for the day.
