Pryor plays a lawyer with Arden as his secretary. She, in fact, is well versed in legal matters herself, but future hubby Pryor refuses to have her at the bar. Things take a drastic change, however, all because the ancient Bevans hasn't come around to marrying the woman he's dated for the

past 15 years, Lewis. She decides to sue Bevans for breach of promise, with Arden defending the man and Pryor defending Lewis. The courtroom scenes make for the all too obvious jokes and the eventual reconciliations come as no surprise. The picture does have its moments, particularly in the

performance of Bevans as the old bachelor. Based on a 1926 Broadway hit, SHE COULDN'T SAY NO was also a remake of an earlier Warners film of the same name, done in 1930.
