Seven Angry Men Reviews

A heavy, gut-wrenching film version of abolitionist John Brown's crusade to free the slaves. Massey is the strong, domineering Brown, who, with his six sons, grows more and more violent in the service of his cause. The story rings somewhat true in neither making Brown a hero nor ignoring his extremism. Brown was eventually caught and hanged in Harper's Ferry, Virginia (later West Virginia), for attempting to lead a revolt of slaves and followers against the US.
