For some reason only known to RKO, the studio decided to remake the overwrought and fairly weak 1930 melodrama SECOND WIFE. Failing to recognize that what little power existed in the first version was due to a pair of fine performances by the leads, RKO left the lame script alone and cast the film with equally lame actors, rendering the new version more
