A half-hearted chiller that's about as scary as playing peekaboo with an infant. Harlan Knowles (Lance Henriksen) has always put his work at the genetic research company he founded before his duties as a father. To publicize a major discovery by a staff scientist, he sends his daughter, Tara Knowles (Erica Parker), on a promotional field trip to the Canadian wilderness. When her plane crashes, Harlan makes a public announcement that he'll never call off the search until Tara is found and puts together his own rescue team. Harlan's team, led by best-selling author/great white hunter Winston Burg (Phil Granger), includes Native American tracker Clayton Tyne (Russell Ferrier), shady business lady Marla Lawson, (Andrea Roth) Harlan's assistant, Nikki (Mary Mancini) and computer-whiz Plazz (Jeremy Radick). As they strike out past the remote Grizzly Point area, Marla who suspects that Harlan has a motive beyond parental concern tells him that she was approached by a rival firm to scope out Harlan's activities. Harlan placates her by admitting that he's actually hunting for a revolutionary DNA device that was on Tara's plane. The party's safety is jeopardized from two directions: Winston turns out to be a blowhard alcoholic and a territorial Sasquatch (Taras Kostyuk) begins terrorizing the camp. The Sasquatch has already devoured Tara and her companions, but it's still hunger. Meanwhile, Harlan finds a seashell that belonged to Tara and refuses to give up his hunt for the gizmo that gives instant DNA read-outs. Bigfoot kills Winston and Marla, prompting Harlan to get serious about killing the beast. But that may not be as easy as he anticipates the Sasquatch is much smarter than he realizes. Feeble scares doom this pointless horror film.
